Andrew Liddle

Andrew is a theoretical cosmologist, working within the Theory and Combined Probes section of DES. His main interests are in model-level tests using Bayesian statistics, for instance cosmological constant versus dark energy versus modified gravity, as part of which he maintains a database of models to be tested against DES data.

What is your favorite part about being a scientist?

When did you know you wanted to be a scientist?

As a child, through reading popular science books and magazines.

 

Do you have any hobbies or play any sports?

Football and hiking are the main ways I keep fit.

 

If you weren’t a scientist, what would your dream job be?

A fiction author (but not science fiction).
